About Michelle Pashko
Where Nature Meets Canvas
Michelle Pashko is a Canadian artist living and working lakeside in Caesarea, Ontario — surrounded by the wildlife and landscapes that inform every painting she makes.
Her work is rooted in a lifelong attunement to the natural world. Growing up on a farm in rural Ontario in the 1970s and 80s, she was immersed in wildflowers, changing seasons, and the quiet beauty that reveals itself only when you slow down enough to notice. That sense of wonder has never left her work.
The Work
Michelle Pashko works primarily in acrylic using impasto techniques — thick, expressive brushwork that gives each piece a dimensional, tactile quality impossible to replicate in print. She also works with alcohol inks, which bring a fluid, luminous energy to wildlife portraits and abstract grounds. Many pieces layer both: rich texture beneath vibrant, flowing colour.
Her subjects range from the majestic — wolves, cougars, herons, eagles — to the quietly extraordinary: wildflower fields, lily ponds, the particular light of a cottage country evening. Each painting is completely one of a kind. Once it leaves the studio, it exists nowhere else in the world.
Originals, Prints & Commissions
Original paintings are available for collectors seeking a singular, irreplaceable work. Limited edition signed and numbered prints offer an accessible entry point for those who want to bring a piece of the wild into their home. Commissions are accepted for custom pet portraits and memorial paintings — a deeply personal way to honour the animals we love.
The Studio
Living on the water has given Michelle an intimate relationship with the Great Blue Heron, the egret, the loon — creatures she watches from her studio window and paints from direct observation and memory. Every piece in the collection carries something of that place: the light off the lake, the stillness of early morning, the particular quality of Ontario wilderness.
